Shoyu Sauce for Pork Butt

  • Salad oil
  • Chinese cloves (3 or 4)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup shoyu
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of monosodium glutamate
  • Pork butt

Bring sauce to boil; set pork in sauce; bring to boil again. Lower heat and simmer 2-3 hours until pork is very tender.
