Shoyu Pork

  • 2 cups Shoyu
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2-1/2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sake or Liquor
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
  • 1 inch Ginger, cut or slice
  • 2 to 3 cloves Garlic, cut
  • 5 pounds Pork Butt

In a large pot combine shoyu, sugar, water, sake, vinegar, ginger and garlic. Mix well. Add pork. Bring mixture to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for 3 hours. Slice pork or cut into chunks.
