Mango and Papaya Pie

  • 1-1/2 cup cooked ripe papaya
  • 1-1/2 cup cooked nearly ripe mangoes
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs

Mash fruit through sieve. Add beaten egg yolks, sugar, cinnamon and salt and cook slowly until thickened. Cool and put in baked pie crust. Cover with a meringue made of beaten egg whites and 4 tablespoons of sugar. Brown in 325-degree oven for about 15 minutes.
