Beef Tongue

Mrs. Iwalani Kamoku – Hualani

  • 1 beef tongue
  • 2 tsp liquor
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp shoyu
  • 1 piece ginger

Put enough water to cover tongue which has been cleaned. Add salt. Cook until tender. Cut in small pieces about 1″ square and 1/4″ thick. Heat 1 T oil and add 1 tsp salt. Add the tongue, stir well. Mix ginger, shoyu, sugar and liquor with 1/2 c water. Pour over tongue and cook for five minutes. Serve hot.
