Shortbread Cookies

Baking Time: 30 minutes
Temperature: 300°

• 1 lb. butter
• 1 lb. margarine
• 3 c. sugar
• 2 tsp. salt
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• 10 c. flour

1. Cream butter, margarine and sugar; add remaining ingredients. (Mixture will appear crumbly.)
2. Divide dough into 4 parts.
3. Shape into logs.
4. Roll logs in waxpaper and chill for 8 hours or until firm.
5. Slice into 1/4-inch pieces and bake at 300° for 30 minutes.

NOTE: Colored sugars or other decorations may be used. Good Christmas gift!
