Sweet Sour Spareribs

  • 1½ to 2 pounds spareribs
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup shoyu
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1½ cups water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. fat
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 one-inch pc. ginger, crushed

Chop spareribs into small pieces. Mix flour and shoyu and soak spareribs in this mixture for about ½ hour. Heat fat. Add garlic and ginger. Brown ribs, add vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. Allow to simmer for 1 hour. Serve on pickled turnip and carrots.
