Easy Pupu Chicken
Yields: 6 servings
- 5 lbs. chicken thighs
Sauce:
- 1 5-inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. Ajinomoto
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tbsp. shoyu
- 1 tbsp. wine
- 1 tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
Flour Mixture
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. Ajinomoto
- 3/4 tsp. pepper
- Oil for frying
- Debone chicken and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Mix sauce ingredients thoroughly.
- Soak chicken pieces in sauce overnight.
- Roll chicken in flour mixture and fry in heated oil until golden brown.
- May be served hot or cold.
NOTE: Oil should be heated to 350° – 375° or medium to medium high heat.
