Microwave Shoyu Chicken

  • 3 lb. chicken
  • 1 cup shoyu
  • 1 T. gin
  • 1 T. fresh ginger, minced
  • ¼ cup green onions, cut in ½” lengths
  • 1 T. honey or sugar
  • 1 t. salt
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed

Combine ingredients and mix together in mixing bowl.

Rub chicken with sauce and marinate 45 minutes before roasting.

Drain marinade from chicken. Place chicken on a large bowl (SAVE marinade).

Microwave on HIGH for 12 minutes. Baste chicken and turn over.

Microwave on HIGH for 12 minutes. Let chicken stand 5 to 10 minutes after removing from oven.

Cut chicken into serving pieces. Thicken excess sauce with a little cornstarch and use it as gravy.
