Siu Mai – Pork Hash
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 1/4 c. green onions, minced
- 1/2 c. shrimp, cleaned, deveined and minced
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp. sesame seed oil
- 24 frozen green peas, optional
- 1 pkg. wun tun pi or wrappers
- Combine all the filling ingredients and mix well.
- Fill centers of wun tun wrappers with 1 tbsp filling.
- Draw sides of the wrappers around the filling and squeeze lightly near the top.
- Garnish each siu mai with a green pea.
- Place in an oiled steamer.
- Steam dumplings for 20 minutes.
- Serve with shoyu and mustard. (Dry mustard mixed with water.)
NOTE: Chinese fishcake (1/2 c.) may be substituted for shrimp.
