Sardines in Buns
Mrs. Gloria Pilapil – Kapehu
- 3 cans sardines (3 1/4 oz. size)
- 1 lb American cheese, grated
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 c chopped ripe olives
- 2 T minced onion
- 1 c minced celery
- 2 T minced pimiento
- 12 Hamburger buns
Combine all ingredients except buns. Mix thoroughly. Split buns 3/4 way through and fill each with sardine mixture. Stand cut side up in large casserole or roasting pan with cover. Cover and bake in slow oven (300° F) for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake 10 minutes longer.
