Magic Custard Pie

Yaeko Miyasaki Haga, Class of 1941

  • 1 can Eagle brand condensed milk
  • 2 cans hot water
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Nutmeg

Mix condensed milk and hot water. Pour gradually over eggs. Add salt and vanilla. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes; reduce to 350 degrees and bake another 20 minutes or until knife inserted in pie comes out clean.

Yield: 2 shallow 9-inch pies
