Gisantes

  • 2 pounds pork
  • 1 package frozen green peas
  • 1 large can mushrooms
  • 1 large can bamboo shoots
  • 2 large cans tomato sauce
  • 1 round onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves

Cut up pork, saving fat to use for frying the garlic in a cooking pot. When the garlic is brown, add the meat, cooking till done. Then add sliced onion, bay leaves, tomato sauce and 2 cans of water. Add mushrooms and bamboo shoots when it starts to boil. Add peas the last three minutes. Salt to taste. Serves 6.
