Fried Stuffed Tofu
Yields: 4-6 servings
- 1/2 lbs. raw fishcake
- 1/4 c. green onions, minced
- 1/4 tsp. Ajinomoto
- Dash of pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 1 block tofu
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. cracker or bread crumbs
- 2 c. oil for frying
- Combine fishcake, green onions and seasonings and mix thoroughly.
- Cut tofu into 1 x 1 1/2-inch blocks. Cut a slit in one side of the tofu and stuff with fishcake mixture.
- Steam 10 minutes; set aside to drain.
- Dip stuffed tofu in egg; dredge in crumbs and pan fry in hot oil for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve with shoyu.
