Chicken Apritada

  • 2 lbs. hekka chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • ½ tsp. MSG
  • 1 small can of sliced pimiento
  • 1 can garbanzo beans, undrained
  • 2 peeled and quartered potatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp. shoyu
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Brown chicken in oil and garlic. Season with salt, pepper and MSG. When browned, add pimiento, garbanzos, potatoes, tomato sauce, water, shoyu, sugar and bay leaf. Cover and cook until potatoes are tender.
