Bitter Melon With Pork (Guinisa – Filipino)

  • 1 lb. pork sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 7 shrimps, fresh or dried
  • 4 bitter melon sliced
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 1 tbsp. Patis or shoyu
  • 1 cup water

Cook pork with garlic in a skillet until slightly brown. Add onion, tomato, shrimps and melon. Sprinkle with salt and monosodium glutamate. Add shoyu, water, stir and cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until tender. Serves 6.
