Beef Stroganoff

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 box fresh or large can mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 bay leaf, crushed
  • 1 c. tomato soup
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 drops Tabasco
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • Paprika, salt, pepper
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped fine
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 c. sour cream

Brown meat, add onions, mushrooms, celery and pepper; saute for 1 minute. Place all ingredients in casserole, add bay leaf, caraway seed, tomato, parsley and seasoning. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Add paprika half-way through. Add sour cream when ready to serve. Serve over rice or noodles.
