Apple Crumb Pie

  • 9″ prepared pie shell
  • 6 large apples
  • 1/2 C. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1/3 C. butter

Preheat the oven to 400°. Pare apples and cut into thin slices. Arrange slices in a 9-inch prepared pie shell. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon well. Sprinkle over apples. Sift flour and brown sugar together. Cut butter into the flour mixture until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake for 25 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°. Bake until the apples are done, about 45 minutes.
