All-Purpose Pasta Sauce

  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 6-oz. cans tomato paste
  • 2¼ cups water
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • ¼ tsp. oregano
  • 1 bay leaf

Saute onion in olive oil. Stir in tomato paste. Slowly add water to mixture, stirring constantly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf before serving. Makes 3 cups, plenty for 1 pound of Pasta! Serves 4.
