Superb Meatballs
Yields: 4-6 servings
Meatballs
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1 tsp. flour
- 2/3 c. bread crumbs
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp. catsup
- Dash of allspice
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. oil
Sauce:
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 3 tbsp. catsup
- 2 beef boullion cubes
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. burgundy
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Chopped parlsey for garnish
- Combine hamburger, crumbs, flour, onion, allspice, egg, milk, salt and catsup.
- Shape mixture into small balls — heaping teaspoon size.
- Brown well in oil and remove from pan.
- Blend sauce in oil remaining in pan.
- Cook and stir constantly until smooth.
- Add meatballs to sauce.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
