Pizza
Temperature: 400°
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/4 c. warm water
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Sauce:
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/2 bay leaf
- Cheeses (mozzarella, swiss, cheddar, and parmesan)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- Dissolve yeast in warm water till bubbly.
- Add flour, oil, and sugar and mix well.
- Add salt and mix with dough hook; whip till dough separates from side of bowl.
- Let rise till double in bulk.
- Roll out very thin, place on cookie sheet or pizza pan.
- Let rise again.
- Bake at 400° till light brown.
- Place pizza sauce, trimmings and bake again till cheeses melt.
Sauce:
- Saute onions in oil until transparent.
- Add ingredients in order listed; stir.
- Let simmer for 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Spread on crust.
NOTE: Pepperoni, salami, Canadian bacon, mushroom, and olives are all optional pizza toppings.
