Hamburger Roll with Barbecue Sauce

Mix together:

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 c. fresh bread crumbs or 2 pieces softened bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce
  • ketchup
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Pat down on wax paper into rectangle shape about 1/4 inch thickness. Spread 3 c. prepared mashed potato over rectangle. Roll in jelly roll fashion; bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. After 1/2 hour of baking pour on sauce.

Sauce:

Mix together:

  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar or molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce or ketchup

When done remove from oven. Drain sauce into bowl and place hamburger roll on platter. Garnish as desired.
