Baked Macaroni and Cheese

  • 1 cup macaroni
  • 2 quarts boiling water
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 cup white sauce (well seasoned)
  • Crumbs, if available

Bring water to boil in large covered saucepan. Add salt and macaroni and boil 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Pour into strainer and rinse with water. Grease casserole, put in a layer of macaroni, sprinkle with cheese; and cover with white sauce. Repeat until casserole is filled, ending with cheese. Cover with buttered crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees to 400 degrees until sauce bubbles and crumbs are brown.
