Barbecued Spare Ribs

  • 5 lb. barbecue spareribs
  • 1 large piece ginger
  • Salt

Sauce:

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup catsup
  • 1/3 cup oyster sauce
  • Monosodium glutamate

Boil spareribs with ginger and salt for 1½ hours. Marinate in sauce for 3 hours or overnight. Broil in oven or hibachi.
