Yakitori (Broiled Marinated Chicken)
- 3/4 c brown sugar
- 1/4 c shoyu
- 3/4 c water
- 1 3″ piece fresh ginger, crushed
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 T white wine
- 8 chicken breasts, deboned
Combine first six ingredients and mix until sugar dissolves. Add chicken breasts and marinade 2 hours in refrigerator, turning chicken occasionally. Heat broiler. Place chicken breasts skin side down on rack in broiling pan. Broil 10 minutes, 6″ from heat, basting once with marinade. Turn chicken breasts and baste. Broil about 5 minutes or until done. Before serving, cut into 3/4 inch slices.
