Yaki Buta (Pork Saute)

Serves: 5
Marinated pork slices, broiled or sauteed in frying pan.
- 1 lb. shoulder pork
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- ¼ cup shoyu
- ¼ cup mirin
- 1 green pepper
- 2 cloves garlic
- chili pepper (optional)
Slice meat thin. Marinate in sauce consisting of shoyu, sugar, mirin, crushed garlic, from 30 minutes to an hour. Broil in oven or heat oil in skillet, and lay out marinated pork slices. Cover lightly with paper towel to prevent oil splatter. Fry on both sides and remove in a dish. Slice green pepper, saute in the same pan. Serve meat with green pepper.
