Sweet Sour Spare Ribs

  • 2 lbs spare ribs
  • 2½ Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup shoyu
  • 1½ tsp salt

Mix this and soak spareribs for about 1 hour and fry until brown. Take out excess oil.

Add the following and simmer until tender:

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 slice ginger
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice or water
  • Dash of Chinese 5 spice

Yield: 4 servings
