Surimi Won Ton

Rudy B. Legaspi, Class of 1951

  • 2 pkg Won Ton pi (about 6 dozen)
  • 1 lb box surimi (white fish paste)
  • 1 pkg long rice (cut in slices after soaking in hot water)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ajinomoto
  • 4 stalks green onions, sliced small
  • 1 can drained baby shrimps, optional
  • 1/2 pkg dried shrimp, diced, optional
  • 1 can crab meat, optional
  1. Mix all ingredients including any of the optional items, if desired.
  2. Wrap approximately 1 tsp of surimi mixture for each Won Ton pi. Fold in shape of triangle. Seal edges using water and pressing with fingers. Cross points of the triangle; seal using water and press to hold.
  3. Deep fry in 325 to 350 degree heat.

Yield: About 6 dozen

NOTE: Deliver first batch to Rudy for evidence and proof of success. May be served with shoyu/mustard dip or shoyu/sushi vinegar/sugar/grated ginger or daikon/Tabasco sauce mixture.
