Shrimps Cooked With Vegetables

  • ½ lb fresh shrimps
  • 3 large dried mushrooms, soaked
  • ½ c bamboo shoots, sliced
  • ½ c green onion, cut 2″ long
  • 1 T shoyu
  • 2 tsp sake
  • 1½ pt stock (dashi)
  • Salt to taste

Make stock by boiling dried shrimps in the water for 15 to 20 minutes.

In the meantime, shell the fresh shrimps and cut in two. Fry them in a pan. Take the shrimps out of the pan and fry the rest of the vegetables. Put the shrimps in the vegetables and put the stock in. Salt to taste and season with shoyu, sake and ajinomoto. Cook for a few minutes.

Before taking off from heat, pour 1 T cornstarch which has been mixed with water. Cook again for a few minutes.

Serves 4.
