Magic Cookie Bars

Pauline Ragual Ellamar, Class of 1969

  • 1-1/2 cups corn flake crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 6-oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1-1/3 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

Measure corn flake crumbs, sugar and butter into 9×13-inch baking pan. Mix thoroughly. With back of tablespoon, press mixture evenly and firmly in bottom of pan to form crust. Scatter chocolate morsels over crust, spread coconut evenly over chocolate morsels. Sprinkle nuts over coconut, then pour condensed milk evenly over nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or till lightly browned around edges. Cool, cut into bars.

Yield: 54 bars (1×2-inches)
