Koya Dofu (Frozen Soybean Curb Cooked in Shoyu)

Servings 3 – 4

Slice one tofu into 4-5 slices and freeze for 3-5 hours or overnight. When well frozen, tofu will look yellowish brown. Thaw, squeeze out a little water. Cut into cubes and cook in the following sauce.

  • 2 tablespoons shoyu
  • 1½ tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons shredded shrimps
  • ¼ teaspoon gourmet powder

May be served as a meat substitute.
