Korean Spare Ribs (Chay)

  • 2½ lbs. pork spareribs
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 piece ginger, minced fine
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 whole pieces bamboo shoots
  • ¼ cup shoyu
  • ½ tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seed

Cut pork into serving pieces, in large pot saute pork, ginger, garlic in sesame oil. Add water, cook pork until tender. Add sliced mushrooms, sliced bamboo shoots. Season with shoyu, glutamate and sesame seeds. Enough to serve 6.
