Korean Barbecue Meat

  • 1½ lbs. tenderloin or round steak
  • ¼ cup shoyu
  • 3 tbsp. salad or sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp. sesame seed (browned & pulverized)
  • 2 tbsp. sugar (add more if desired)
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 4 tbsp. chopped green onions
  • 1/3 tsp. minced garlic
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1/3 tsp. chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate

Cut and trim meat into pieces 3 x 4 x 1/3 inch thick. Pound meat and score with knife, slashing lengthwise and crosswise. Combine rest of ingredients with meat and mix thoroughly. Let stand for 1 hour or more. Broil immediately.
