Custard Pie

  • 3 Eggs, whole
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2-1/2 cups Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Grated Nutmeg

Beat eggs slightly and add sugar and salt. Add milk and vanilla. Cook until mixture thickens. Pour custard mixture into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle generously with nutmeg.

Bake in a preheated 425° oven for 25 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.

Do not overbake or you’ll have watery custard with holes.
