Boston Baked Beans

  • 1 lb. navy beans
  • ½ lb. salt pork, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 to 4 cups hot water
  • 1/3 cup ketchup

Wash beans and soak overnight in cold water. Drain water off and put in automatic electric cooker. Mix ingredients into beans. Add hot water. Turn control dail to 300 until boiling then lower control dial to simmer for 4 or more hours until done. Occasionally stir beans with wooden spoon. If beans become dry, add a little boiling water.
