Barbecued Spareribs

  • 3 lb. spareribs

Sauce:

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 to 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Dash of pepper

Cut ribs into 6 or 8 servings. Cut off all fat possible. Place ribs into roaster which has a lid. Mix sauce ingredients and cover ribs with sauce. Place lid on roaster and bake at 300° for 1 hour. Then remove cover and continue baking 1 hour more. The ribs may be simmered on the range, stirring occasionally until tender.
