Baked Stew

  • 1½ lbs. stew meat, cubed
  • Salt and pepper
  • Flour
  • 2 carrots, cubed
  • 2 round onions, cubed
  • 2 tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • ½ cup wine
  • ½ cup shoyu
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 stalks celery, cubed
  • 2 potatoes, cubed

Grease large casserole. Drench stew meat in mixture of flour, salt and pepper. Arrange layer of beef, then vegetables, repeat layers. Mix together the liquids and pour over the meat and vegetables. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1½ hours.
