Baked Fish Fillets with Mushroom Sauce
- ¼ cup butter or margarine
- ½ cup sliced onions
- 1 10 oz. can mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- 1 green pepper, cut in ½ inch strips
- 1/8 tsp. thyme
- 2 1 lb. packages frozen Cod or any other fish fillets
- ¼ cup bread crumbs
- ½ tsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. melted butter or margarine
Preheat skillet to 250 degrees F. Melt butter or margarine. Saute onions in butter or margarine until lightly browned. Add mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper and thyme. Mix thoroughly. Unwrap fish and place in skillet. Mix together the bread crumbs, butter and paprika. Spread over fish; place strip of green pepper on top. Cover skillet with vent closed.
Cook 30 minutes, or until fish is tender. Makes 6-8 servings.
