Aunty Favy’s Spareribs

  • 3 inches Ginger Root, crushed or sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Shoyu
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Ketchup
  • 4 pounds Spareribs (slab style)

Combine all ingredients except for the spareribs to make a sauce. Marinate ribs in the sauce overnight. Place ribs and sauce in a roasting pan.

Bake in a preheated 350° oven for about 1 hour or until ribs are tender. If you bake in the sauce with meat side down you do not have to baste that often.

For an enhanced flavor, grill the ribs after baking.
