Korean Khal Bi

  • 3 pounds short ribs
  • 1 ¼ cups soy sauce
  • 5 cloves finely minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon finely minced ginger
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon sesame seed oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sesame seed
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon chopped green onion

Cut meat in ½ inch slices leaving about 1 inch from the bone. When done the meat should look like a fan. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat. Knead the sauce into the meat and let soak for ½ hour to 1 hour. Place meat on rack in broiler pan, 5 inches from broiler unit. Broil 10 minutes on each side. Yield: 6 servings.
