Yakidofu (Fried Tofu)

Servings 2-4

  • 1 tofu
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Cut tofu in 4 slices and drain excess water. Brown both sides in greased pan.

Sauce:

  • 5 tablespoons miso
  • 5 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1½ tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon gourmet powder
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger root

Grind miso in suribachi and add vinegar, sugar, gourmet powder and grated ginger root. Mix well and serve with yaki dofu.
