Bean & Ham Soup

  • ½ lb. ham
  • 1 cup navy beans
  • 1 large carrot, cubed
  • 2 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 5 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 2/3 cups sliced onions
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 medium turnips, cubed
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 6 cups water

Wash and soak beans overnight in water. Boil the ham in 6 cups water for 1 hour, add the beans and cook until tender. Add all other ingredients and cook until vegetables are tender. Season with salt, if necessary, and serve hot.
