Never Fail Baked Custard

  • 1 quart Milk
  • 5 Eggs, separated
  • 5 Heaping tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Heat milk. Separate eggs. Cream yolks thoroughly with sugar and vanilla. Add milk slowly. Beat egg whites until foamy (not too stiff). Fold into mixture. Pour in lightly greased 8 inch square casserole dish, set in a pan of hot water.

Bake in a preheated 325° oven until done (knife inserted in center comes out clean).

Yield: 6 servings.
