Abalone Pupus
Karen Ishikane Tani, Class of 1965
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp minced ginger root
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 1 can (1-1b) abalone, cubed
Combine soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sugar and mirin. Bring to a boil. Cool. Pour over abalone and marinate 2-3 hours.
Yield: 2 cups
