Bavarian Tart

Pan Size: 9×13-inch pan
Baking Time: 12 minutes, 40 minutes
Temperature: 350°      350°

Crust:

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped

Filling:

  • 2 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Cinnamon
  • 2 cans bartlett pears (29 oz. size)

1. Cream the butter and sugar.
2. Add the vanilla, then the flour and nuts.
3. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes or till edges are brown.
4. Take out of oven and let cool.
5. Cream the cheese, then add the eggs.
6. Add the sugar and vanilla and cream till smooth–do not overbeat or it will get watery.
7. Pour on crust and set aside.
8. Slice the pears into wedges.
9. Place on the cream cheese filling.
10. Sprinkle cinnamon on pears.
11. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
