Bavarian Tart

Crust:

Mix well:

  • 2 blocks butter (or 1 & 1 butter & margarine)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar

Add, mix:

  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Press in bottom of 13 x 9 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350º. Remove from oven, set aside.

Filling:

Beat smooth and pour on crust:

  • 2 8 oz. cream cheese blocks (room temperature 2 hours)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs

Topping:

  • 1 1 lb. can bartlett pear – drained and cut into wedges (cut each half into 10 thin wedges, will be just about right.

Place wedges on cream cheese filling. Sprinkle with 2 tsp. cinnamon and bake for about 30 min. at 350º. Let cool a bit. Cut into square while warm, but cool in pan before serving.
