Rouladen
- 1 to 1½ lbs. thinly sliced beef (rib eye)
- 4 slices cheese
- 1 onion
- Mustard
- 8 slices bacon
- salt and pepper to taste
Line up meat, spread thinly with mustard on every slice. Top with 1 slice bacon, 1 slice onion, ½ slice cheese.
Sprinkle over with salt and pepper to taste. Roll each piece together carefully and hold together with tooth picks. Fry in pan until brown on all sides. Then simmer for 5 minutes on low flame. Add one pint of sour cream and turn off flame. Instead of sour cream, you may use: 3 tbsp. mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon mustard, and one tablespoon vinegar. Mix well, and pour over the rolls.
