Teriyaki Meatballs
SERVINGS 4
- 1½ pounds lean ground beef
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Dash of pepper
- 2 tablespoons shoyu sauce
- ½ teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
Put all ingredients in bowl and mix thoroughly. Form into 24 meatballs and place in a roasting pan. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes on each side. Add 1 cup sauce and serve.
Sauce:
- ½ cup shoyu
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mix with water)
Mix all ingredients and bring to a boil.
Meatballs made smaller, and served with toothpicks, are excellent appetizers.
