Scotch Toffee Bars

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup dark corn syrup
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1½ tsp. vanilla

Topping:

  • 1 6-oz. pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • ¼ cup chopped nut meats

Pour butter over oats, mix thoroughly. Add rest of ingredients, blending well. Pack firmly in 9 x 12 greased pan. Bake at 450 degrees about 12 minutes. Turn out of pan. Spread with chocolate, sprinkle with nutmeats. Chill: cut in bars. Makes 3 dozen.
