Refrigerator Nut Cookies
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. water
- 3-3/4 cups sifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Cream butter; add sugar and beat until creamy. Beat eggs and add. Dissolve soda in water and add to sugar mixture. Sift salt with flour twice and add to above mixture, mixing well.
Add vanilla and nuts. Line loaf pan with waxed paper; pack in cooky mixture. Chill overnight in refrigerator. Next day slice loaf thin and place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in 325-degree over for 10 to 15 minutes. Cooky mixture can be kept for several days in refrigerator.
