Red Kanten

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 stick red kanten
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 4½ cup water

Tear kanten into pieces and soak in 1 cup water. Boil 4½ cups water. Add soaked kanten into boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Add sugar and cook for 25 minutes, on medium heat, stirring constantly. Drain and refrigerate until it is set.
